School History

Antioch School is a private elementary school designed to provide an educational alternative for children from preschool through grade 8. Established in 1978 and approved as a private school by the Fall River School Committee, Antioch School is owned and operated by Parents of Rockhill, Inc., a Massachusetts non-profit corporation whose members are the parents and guardians of the students enrolled at the school, and the teachers employed there. It is governed by a Board of Directors, made up of parents and teachers, who work closely with the School Administrators and the faculty. Our classroom teachers are Massachusetts or Rhode Island or OCCS certified.

The school is located in the Highlands Historic District of Fall River, Massachusetts, and is in a historically significant structure, the "Jerome Borden House," which the corporation purchased in 1981. Built in 1895, this magnificent structure, with its leaded-glass windows, marble fireplaces and rich woodwork, creates a warm and comfortable environment for our students. Our large, private playground provides a safe area for play and structured physical education classes for pre-school through 8th grade.
